Hope in the midst of Crisis

As we conclude our series on hope I wanted to ask you what, and who gives you that glimmer of hope in the face of the Corona virus pandemic? What does hope look like to you? It may be a struggle to feel hope when we are hit with the daily news coverage of the rising number of fatalities emerging from this pandemic, which shows no signs of abating. Where is the hope when we see the streets empty and the scarcity of transportation on the road? Where is the hope when the general public are running away from each other, crossing the road and changing aisles to avoid contamination?

I see tremendous hope everywhere when I hear of 70,000 NHS volunteers in the UK, signing up overnight to support the NHS, the vulnerable, the elderly and the needy.

I see tremendous hope when I hear of the supermarket staff, shelf stackers, warehouse workers and delivery drivers, who work tirelessly to ensure that the general public are resourced with food and necessities during the times of quarantine and social distancing.

I see hope when I hear of our heroes, the NHS staff, Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Hospital Office Workers or whatever role you have in the NHS, on the front line who are fighting to save lives in hospital in whatever capacity.

I see hope when Care Workers and Family Carers are protecting their self-isolated elderly clients and elderly relatives by delivering their medication and food.

Finally, I experience hope when I see Ministers of the gospel and Pastoral carers, pray, serve and minster to the general public — sharing the message of hope.

To all the unsung heroes, your work behind the scenes to serve the general public does not go unnoticed.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FRIENDS AND CHAMPIONS. YOU ARE LOVED.
